Christmas Greetings & Updates

"So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father's one and only Son." John 1:14

May we all recognize His glory in our lives, now and throughout the year.

The last few months have been filled with many events for Helping Hands for Haiti. Some joyful, some distressing.

The cholera outbreak which started where we work in the Artibonite Valley has claimed close to 3,000 innocent lives. Helping Hands for Haiti as supplied powered chlorine for distribution through the churches we work with in the valley. We will also be holding sanitation clinics for adults and children as we bring teams into the area. The hurricane of November failed to be as strong as predicted, but some homes were lost in the heavy rains. We were happy to have some tents available to aid with shelter.

Helping Hands for Haiti has added 2 new villages to our "Action Plan" program. (see About Us page). You can also read more about the villages in our September news letter. We have also added 3 schools to our school lunch program. We will now be feeding 500+ a hot Kids Against Hunger meal each school day. With said, we are blessed after 3 months battle with Haitian customs to get the full container of food from Kid Against Hunger Sioux Falls. We will be sharing the load with our dear friends at Mission Haiti. Thanks to the GREAT team at KAH Sioux Falls for making this all a reality!!

From all of us at Helping Hands for Haiti our deepest thanks for your prayers and support in 2010.

May you and your family be blessed this Christmas season, as you have blessed so many in Haiti,

God's Peace

Dave O.

Greetings to everyone!! Just returned from 3 weeks in Haiti. The first 10 days was with a GREAT team of 14. Many possessive projects completed by this fun and energetic group. Lives in Haiti were touched, and am sure so were the team members. Thank you all, please join us again!!!

After the team departed Fritz and I were successful in getting the truck out of customs. We were able to deliver Kids Against Hunger food to both of our schools and to Mission Haiti's location close to Les Cayes (this is a picture of us unloading there).

We then returned to PAP to unload the tents, and health kits for Fritz to distribute. All the medical supplies will be distributed to hospitals very soon.

A special THANK YOU to everyone of you that made "OUR ACTION PLAN" a reality.

May God richly bless your life!!!

Dave O.

Getting Back to Life

Greetings to you all. Just returned from Haiti late last week. Things are still a mess in PAP and will be for many many years. It seems that a lot of people have returned to PAP. Most are trying to get back to life as before the earthquake.

Fritz and I used our week+ to complete many organizational tasks. I am happy to report that the schools in Jumelle and surrounding areas are going great. Peoples spirits are strong and they praise GOD for all He has done for them. A team of 14 will be traveling to Jumelle May 27th. Please keep us all in your prayers.

Here is our latest newsletter/update.

Gods Peace,

Dave O.
